Bonny Owens Bull

We lived on a little ranch in the sand hills outside Fletcher Oklahoma, owned by Bonney Owens. His Hereford bull would get out and go visiting the neighbor ladies. This was one of the times Bill and his good cow horse,Joe,made a believer out of that bull.By the time they got him home,he was leading like a well broke horse.

Usually,in any herd of animals, there is a boss, the one who keeps order .This sculpture is of one of our Quarter Horse mares,Apple Flip. She was a sweet natured ,coal black mare.It was fun to watch her stand by the water trough, and allow the other horses to come in a specific order to drink. They never disputed her authority, for fear of her flashing teeth and hoofs!
She was also a great show horse. Our daughter Janet won many ribbons showing her both Western and English, across the United States!
